For small gigs, the Talking Heads in Southampton is a great little venue. Medium(ish) sized ones I've always found Cardiff University is really good, really wide stage so lots of people get a good view (it makes sense in my head). Big gigs the new wembley is brilliant and was actually really well organised when I went.

If we were doing worst venues it would be the 02 arena.

Good luck working out where I live based on that collection :D

The only decent one near me is Rock City in Notts - can get fairly cheap tickets for some bands, drink prices average and atmosphere in there is electric. Plus the layout is good for rock gigs - main floor area (good for moshpits etc) then it's raised at the sides towards the bar (good for actually seeing the band) then steps that go up round the side to a balcony area (perect for watching with nobody in your way) with seating and a bar at the back (for just chilling). Plus as well as the main room there's the basement and rescue rooms for smaller bands.

O2 is fine as areanas go, I find it orite if standing or on the lower tier it has a nice view, but then even when the Jubilee is out I am only 20 minutes from it. Its better than most arenas, and the only things that annoy me about it are common to any arena gigs :P

As for best, Brixton has been brilliant everytime I been and so has Roundhouse. Don't get the hate for Shepards Bush either, rather like it there!.

My personal fave in London, is Heaven, just had alot of good gigs there apart from MGMT often gets a decent crowd!.

As for the Scala argument, its Kings Cross regardless of borough, saying Camden would just throw people off :P I tend to think of venues as the nearest tube to them really.

The Astoria was a terrible venue that put on good bands.

Brixton Academy is good if you're standing in the acoustic sweetspot. Which is about a metre-f**king-square between the sound desk and the stage. Stand anywhere out of there and it's bloody awful.

Aesthetically, I like the KOKO, but the booze in there is more overpriced than most places.

Underworld - which is in Camden Town lol

I saw the foo fighters there when they did a secret gig a few years ago it was soooo good. Then i went back a couple of weeks later for Diamond Head and that was excellent too loads of teenagers waving their long hair around down the front lol. and some raised areas to stand if like me you are a shortarse!

Best way to get to wembley is the met line from Rickmansworth. Not as good if you have to get from south london though.

My OH likes the Hammersmith Apollo because of the slopey floor so you always get a good view. Stone sour in just over a month yay! :D

That's not right either though. Boroughs hardly ever go on the address as they can misleading....

Right I'm just going to summarise this:

The scala is in Kings Cross, which is definitely not Camden Town. However it is in Camden Borough, and definitely not in Islington Borough (altough it is very near the boundary). Jump was right when he said it wasn't in Camden Town, but wrong when he said it wasn't in Camden Borough. Myself and tony were not wrong at any point during the argument, as we only ever referred to Camden borough because we both know its not in camden town.

Done and dusted. The most boring argument in efestivals history should now be put to bed ... after an apology from jump ;)
