fuzzylogic
I read that there is no camping is this true? What do people do instead, stay in hostels? Is it easily accessible getting to and from the site?

zahidf
It is in barcelona: i imagine they'll be enough hotels/hostels at a reasonable price. From what i can gather, the venues seem fairly close to the city centre Anyone know if the prices are due to increase again?

onthebeach
Really interested in this festival - particularly want to see The National, Flaming Lips and Animal Collective. Would appreciate a bit more info if anyone can help. My daughter has an A level exam on the morning of Thursday 26th. We can just about make a flight to Barcelona that arrives at 5pm that day. Have done a lot of googling but cannot find info on dates/times for the bands to appear (presume the main bands will be on the Thursday/Friday/Saturday). If any of the above bands are playing on the Thursday what are the chances that we will arrive in time? Thanks in advance for any answers. onthebeach
'the normal festival starts at 5 to 6 pm on thursday with the first "large" bands playing at around 9pm till 3am. depends on whether you arrive at girona, reus oder barcelona airport (e.g. girona is about 100km away from barcelona city) but you may be fine. ' Thanks Robert - good point, it appears that Easyjet go to Barcelona airport but Ryanair also use the other 'local' airports - so your comment is much appreciated as I would'nt have noticed and ended up with a 100km further journey. Looks like we may be booking this one. Thanks again.

mark_87
Any ideas when a next announcement will be made in regard to lineup? Or are there any rumours floating about at all?
Infinite Jest
They just posted a blog update: http://primaverasound.wordpress.com/2010/12/08/235/ It's in Spanish which I don't read, but I ran through Google translate and it says that another headliner will be announcing itself next week (literally tranlated as "another of the names that appear in large letters" so maybe not the actual headliner, but a big name). Primavera will also be announcing some bands for the Poble Espanyol on Wednesday 25 and Sunday May 29.
PastCaring
Hmmm, interesting! It says that in the coming week we will have news of one of the artists higher up the bill - 'they themselves want to announce their presence in the festival'. Gabi then says that, for the festival's part, they intend to give a list of artists that will appear on 25th/29th. I'd take that to mean that we should maybe look out for a an artist self-confirming themselves during the next week or so!
Hesse
The Walkmen, Twin Shadow, Das Racist, Gang Gang Dance, Male Bonding, Cloud Nothings, the Fresh & Onlys, Julian Lynch, Games, Emeralds, Aias http://pitchfork.com/news/41010-pitchfork-stage-at-primavera-festival-announced/
Infinite Jest
Some of the lineup for the Poble Espanyol announced (this is included in the main festival ticket price, but it's in a smaller venue on Montjuic. The Mercury Rev show is additional to the one at the main festival, which will be in the auditorium (which isn't really big enough for a gig like this, IMO). "Wednesday 25th May: NISENNENMONDAI LAS ROBERTAS Sunday 29th May: MERCURY REV perform Deserter’s Songs DEAKIN MY TEENAGE STRIDE BMX BANDITS THE VACCINES ME AND THE BEES"
Infinite Jest
I've done a Spotify playlist: It's got everyone announced so far, all their albums except compilation albums. No singles, unless the band only has a few tunes on Spotify.
Olivedal 1904
Great effort Infinite Jest! I've got to say though that the line up so far doesn't entice me to go all the way from Sweden. There are a few good bands that I've already seen, like the National, Fleet Foxes, Mogwai and Gang Gang Dance. There are some young talented bands on the Pitchfork-stage but it's pretty likely that they'll visit my local festival. Animal Collective, The Walkmen and perhaps Ariel Pink would be nice to see but that's not enough. I hope for the likes of Sonic Youth, Yo La Tengo, Built to Spill, Deerhunter, Modest Mouse, GY!BE, My Morning Jacket or MBV. However, a few of these have visited the festival in recent years making them less likely to be booked. But it's pretty early on so I guess there will be a few additions that will add some quality to the bill.
Infinite Jest
Grinderman will "trample first main stage" (Google translate..) http://primaverasound.wordpress.com/2010/12/16/grinderman/ And they've announced Salem too. Olivedal: I'm hoping for Sonic Youth, I have this sneaking feeling that they might be there....(but not based on anything at all...) Olivedal 1904
That didn't help. I've never liked Grinderman. Straddle-legged old fogyish rock
TheSeventhOne
Clearly you've been listening to a different band called Grinderman then.
PastCaring
So is Grinderman the artist that was going to self-confirm? I gotta say that it's not really our thing either
Infinite Jest
Latest announcement is they hope to have everything confirmed in January, but might keep some slots open till after SXSW. But in the meantime they've unofficially announced Echo and the Bunnymen for the Spanish Village on the Weds. They've also rearranged the stages to make movement easier (yay!), and added a new small stage close to the sea. Announcement here: http://primaverasound.wordpress.com/2010/12/29/ultimas-lineas/ (translated via Google Translate, but seems pretty clear]
