Wrong Shape/Size Ads Appearing !

As always, this could just be Ye Olde 'Puter being particularly useless as per usual but I've been seeing 'wrong' shape/size Ads appearing on eFests again just recently. Primarily on forum pages I must say but I think I've also seen similar on the main site as well although I don't have a screen cap.

The top (landscape format) position occasionally seems to contain portrait format Ads. The right (portrait format) position occasionally seems to contain landscape format Ads. I've even seen the very occasional portrait format standard style Ad appearing in what is usually the video style Ad position after the first topic on forum pages.

Late last week it seemed to be an issue with certain Ads (giffgaff.com and bt.com in particular) when in the top position only and quite possibly when being served by "delivery.simplytechnology.net" but yesterday/today there seems to be various Ads intermittently coming up in the 'wrong' format in all places. It doesn't seem to be just certain Ads that are always 'wrong' either - I've seen the same Ad in both portrait and landscape format in both the top and right positions on various different occasions for instance. The current BT Total Broadband Ad does seem to be the worst offender but maybe that's just because it comes up more frequently than others.

Here's an example screen cap from just now that shows 'wrong' shaped Ads in both the top and right position although the video style Ad was as expected. When I refreshed the page, I then got the standard style BT Ad in the video style Ad position and different Ads in the top/right positions although they were in the correct format on this occasion.

WinXP with FireFox V3.6.10 plus latest flash and Java etc. in case it's relevant.

if someone at an ad-house sets up (say) a skyscraper shaped ad but then assigns it to banner shaped positions, then what happens is what you've seen.

If I ever spot an ad that's been set up wrongly then I bring it to the attention of the ad house I use, and it generally gets sorted soon after.

As most of the ads that display here are ads that display across a number of sites then one of those sites is likely to let the ad-house know, so don't feel the need to let me know about any mis-placed ad you see, otherwise I'll end up spending most of my day dealing with what you've reported, when they'll get sorted anyway.

Ah ... sorry Neil, I didn't realise it was entirely an Ad House problem. I just assumed that there were things you needed to do to ensure Ads came up appropriately for a particular screen layout. So, as things had suddenly gone a bit strange and seemed to be getting worse having been absolutely fine for ages I kinda thought that maybe you'd been doing some tweaking in advance of Glasto Ticket Sunday and something had got a tad screwed up along the way that's all. Will totally ignore any such oddities in future that's for certain - I also have better things to do ! It's a pretty sh!tty service from whatever Ad House concerned it has to be said if they can't even manage to catalogue/tag so many of their Ads correctly or even consistently  Defo doesn't do either the advertisers or the various websites relying on such Ads for income any favours that's for sure not to mention making websites that happen to be trying to display the Ads look somewhat unprofessional and all that.
