At the end of the day, only one headliner got the festival into the national news that weekend. The festival got free publicity, GnR got free publicity. It would be fascinating to see if purchases of Guns n Roses music went up after their appearences in the news. The only people that lose out are the poor sods that showed up to see the spluttering last breaths of a career that could have achieved so much more, and who cares about them?

Ignoring the fact that they were late and Axl's a twat, I wouldn't want them purely because they must cost a fortune

I ended up getting bored after the first hour and leaving, and know plenty of other people who did the same

It wasn't a great performance at all, sure some people loved it but the crowd really wasn't very big at all and masses of people were leaving

Axl's voice isn't as good as it used to be, still good but just not as good

And when you look at other singer's from that era or older, (Steven Tyler, Bruce Dickinson, James Hetfield, Eddie Vedder etc.) you can see that his voice really isn't exceptional

I just wouldn't want that much of the festival's budget spent on such an average performance

Seriously, when it comes to Axl Rose, the same shit from all of the rock media has been flying at him since Donington in '88. What does Axl do? Raises a middle finger to the lot of them and tells them to f**k off, and how many rock bands now in the banal world of modern popular music today even think to risk doing that in case it stalls record sales?

All the hate is purely because they were late. But didn't we all know that would happen? The actual show, taking the timing and everything out of the picture, was fantastic.

Like Dave The Hedgehog said, I expected nothing else. I knew they'd be late. I knew they'd put on a show. I knew people would complain regardless.
