Do we want Soundgarden at Leeds/Reading 2011?

Personally, I don't think people should worry about whether or not Guns N Roses will be back. They're doing their own thing so let's not get sidetracked by them - instead, tell me about f**king Soundgarden. My Leeds ticket depends entirely on whether or not Soundgarden are going to be there next year.

Would you welcome them?

Personally, I don't think they'll headline. They should but they probably won't. Most people now - and let's face it, people who grew up in the 90s don't make up the majority of the Leeds/Reading audience - will only really be familiar with them due to Cornell being in Audioslave/affiliations with other corporate artists, bands and films, etc, so I think before they even consider to put Soundgarden on the bill the band themselves will have to make some serious waves over the course of the next 5 or 6 months to re-establish their audience. Here in the UK, if they go on tour, I think at the most they'll play the various Carling Academy venues - could you honestly see a 'Carling Academy band' headline?

They wouldn't shove them into the Radio 1 tent because they're not really a Radio 1 band - although that said, Faith No More played on it. Festival Republic stage would be too small. Definitely not Lock Up. Alternative Stage should just be comedians and films anyway...

In a dream world, they'd headline Reading on Friday and Leeds on Sunday - basically GNR's slot this year. Realistically, they'll probably be halfway down the bill on Saturday/Sunday in Cypress Hill's slot or headline the Radio 1/NME Stage.
