confused.com
Hello! As its all different this year with only being able to pay deposits, and being unable to book campervan tickets until you have paid the full deposit when the payment window opens next year, how does it work with international people wanting to buy campervan tickets? Their payment window is before ours so they can get in there and snap up all the campervan tickets, and I suppose the Tipis tickets also! Seems a bit unfair! I am desperate to get a campervan ticket. Anybody able to shed some light on how it will work? Thanks! Confused.com
reallife
I wouldn't worry, I can't see Glasto letting that happen. They know we all want the chance, so I can't see international tickets getting the campervan option before us.
paulo999
The number of tickets sold to international buyers won't come anywhere close to capacity of the CV fields, and furthermore only a small percentage of that tiny number will be after CV tickets. So it is - I expect - a non-issue. Edited October 4, 2010 by paulo999
ecowarm
Agree with paulo, the majority of international buyers will be getting a plane over, not taking a campervan. Really gutted myself as failing to get a ticket on Sunday means my chances of getting a camper space if I am successful on the resale is limited

StoneCircle
Hope you are right Paulo, but given the sheer number of CV tickets being sold for extortionate amounts on eBay last year I do worry about this one. jameshunt
This is still a loophole the touts exploit, perhaps the festival need to add the photo of the person purchasing to these too? Your thoughts?

StoneCircle
Absolutely. It states on them that they cannot be traded, but nothing is in place to stop that. Some were going for more than the cost of two Glastonbury Festival tickets combined. So people were buying them in order to not only get a free festival for the two people but to even make a profit on top of that. jameshunt
I have sent the following to the festival office, I will update this thread when I get a reply Hi After watching loads of tickets to the campervan fields being sold on eBay for as much as £450.00 in June, I would like to ask if you have any intention of making these more secure? There is concern on the boards that some International ticket holders may take advantage of their early opportunity to purchase leaving a number of UK attendees without and having to camp! I would suggest either a photo of the person as you will already have this, car/campervan vehicle registration number or can only used in conjunction with ticket number adding ticket number from actual festival ticket. Just a thought as I hate touts, professional or one off opportunists! Kind regards S
paulo999
Good shout. Paulo is right though that the international goers are unlikely to make a huge dent in the numbers of CV tickets, but there are enough touts/opportunists in the general sale for this to be a huge problem come the 1st week of April. I think they should be linked to festival goers by name and photo rather than vehicle registration number as many won't know that in advance as they will possibly be buying or renting a van before the festival. Caravan goers could easily have to use a different tow vehicle if their normal one failed an MOT etc. That would lead to an awful lot of people trying to get their vehicle reg number changed in the booking system which would leave it open to being abused by eBayers again. StoneCircle
Here is the reply, so its fingers crossed on the 1st of April!! Dear S Thank you for your suggestion, however we have no reason to believe that anyone will over order these internationally in order to profit from them, and have confidence that there will be plenty of campervan tickets still available when the UK ticket balances are due. We monitor eBay very closely and have any ticket auctions taken down, so it would be a very risky move for someone to do that. StoneCircle
Nice to get a prompt reply. It is a shame that they don't see that there is a problem though. If they really monitor eBay as much as they claim they do then the CV ticket sales on their last year would have been cancelled, but weren't as they all seemed to go through to completion. The other problem is that even if they cancel some eBay sales this year I doubt those CV tickets would end up back on sale by See Tickets for those still wanting them that had missed out. Sabcully
Are they going to hold some CV tickets back for the resale pool? I am hoping to pick up tix in April and I am really worried that Camper Tickets will have sold out by then, as I believe they sold fast this year and it will probably we worse next spring.
