I'd say that any some friends would perhaps not like it, perhaps not want to hang around when it's the two of you there, but would learn to accept it once they had moved on and found someone else.

Easier said than done though. Thank god I've never been in that position tho.

Yeah, you should explain yourself to your mate first in my opinion. It's just the done thing. And it should be weal wuv as well if he is still a bit hot on her, not just a quick fling/boredom shag type thing.

My darling (now) ex left his girlfriend of 7 years to go out with me.

Within less than 6 months of him breaking up with her, she was shacked up with his best mate. They had all been drinking partners for ever. What hurt him the most wasnt her getting with the mate, it was the concern/wondering as to how long his mate had been hankering after her and the speed at which she jumped into his arms.

Even weirder though was the two mates ended up moving in together and my ex's ex of 7 years was in the next room on occasions with the new boyfriend.

This was all going on while I was with XXX, I didnt have too much problem with it but it was very strange all the same. We even all camped together at G 04. Wait a sec, actually it did my own head in loads now I recall. Heyho.

my ex pal done that to me before. wasn't that suprising because she was a complete slapper and went after every guy she knew anyway. they only went on a few dates then shortly afterwards, i started going out with him and we were together for a year and a half. i don't talk to either of them now though.

i think most people would be quite pissed off with this, and quite right too. it's different going out with a pals ex, they're not together anymore so they need to accept they might go out with someone else.

but if you say to your pal that you fancy someone, even if they like them too, they should at least give you a chance with them! before they go diving in.

when it happened with me, i think i wasn't bothered by it because it wasn't the slightest bit surprising.

I'd say if someone isn't going out with anyone, you can't bags them to yourself.

What about if...

A couple have been together for years and you have known both of them for the same amount of time. They then split and you end up doinking one of them. Is that ok?

I've had it done to me on a pretty massive scale as my now ex best friend had an affair with my boyfriend. That was unforgiveable.

However if i dumped my current OH and one of my friends started seeing him i might not have a problem with it but it would probably still affect our relationship, i don't think my relationship with my friend would be sustainable.
