good news - both the ecm and gfs are no showing the same pattern, some light showers up to the festival - but a dry one, albeit a little cool.

the big area of low pressure that threatened to hit on sat swings north over ireland (thanks ireland)

pay no attention to the site now - you will be very surprised how grass gets rid of standing water if left to it (otherwise the whole country would be a puddle)

bring your wellies and your sunscreen

I dont know where your friend in Shepton lives but I live in Pilton and yes it pissed down yesterday but the weather is so funny down here. I was driving towards shepton and it pissed down but when I looked over the site it was sunny!!!!

I dont think for a second the weather will be anywhere near as nice as last year BUT ive been going for 20 years now and I would be over the moon with dry conditions, everybody knows what 2007 was like and I had friends then and now who came then but would not bother coming as the weather put them right off back then.

:D:D

COME ON ITS GLASTONBURY!!!!

THE GREATEST FESTIVAL THERE IS!!!!!!

I bumped into a friend in town yesterday who told me that their friend drove past site on Friday morning and the ground was so boggy they cannot put the fence up .... I laughed out loud, (hope I wasn't misguided) - amazing the scare stories people who haven't got tickets are coming out with

I've bought Muck boots - they are being sent to Wells so I can pick them up on Tuesday morning !!!

Most sensible and accurate statement today....Facts and evidence to back it up too....Finally someone talking sense..

Yep, you will prob need wellies for Wednesday and some of Thurs, then I would expect it to be dried out for the rest of the week..

We are talking some mud, not up to knees, gradually drying up - it's going to fine...Woooooop

I'll take that deal.

i had so much restored hope yesterday when the BBC said sunny today, showers Monday, then improving sunny spells Tues, Weds.....now suddenly overnight they've changed tack to sunny spells today, rain tomorrow, then heavy showers Tuesday and light showers Weds....looking out the window here in Frome the sky is now solid grey with no visible breaks so the promised sun today looks like its buggered off and the anticipated hopes of things drying up gone with it...

if they are now correct with the rain/shower predictions carrying on into middle of the week then i really begin to think we could be on the cusp of a 2007 scenario.....

sorry.
