schmangle-mangle
So, next year will be my first Glasto as a disabled user......handy for decent loos and viewing platform I reckon. Need a bit of a heads up about the camping area, if anyone has any knowledge?? Whats the vibe like? Is it well lit? Advantages/disadvantages? Do you know if your pals can camp with you or is it just you and your 'PA'? Muchos thanks x

vog
I've been in disabled camping for the last three years as carer/companion for my disabled partner. 2 years camping and last year in an old campervan. Without the access to this site we would'nt be able to go to Glasto. Everybody, from the organizers, helpers etc are so helpful, and work really, really hard to make sure it all works. OK, there are always a few glitches, but it mostly works very well. Get there ready to go in as early as possible, so you can get organized before it gets really busy, which it does by late Wednesday. Most of the site - Spring Ground on the map - is a gentle slope, flat at the bottom where the admin, loos, etc. are. Its NOT steep, but bear that in mind for sleeping direction etc. or if your campervan fridge doesn't work unless you are on the flat, like ours?! There are the full range of disabilites, from the not at all obvious to very severe - think Stephen Hawking. Last year the weather was VERY hot and dry - so the going was very good, but I do know the heat was too much for some who left early. Do have a good read of the relevant bits on the official site and have a look at the other festie sites and blogs as well. Have a great time !!
