Big Vern
Hi, next year will be our first Glasto and as a couple of old farts we are going in a campervan (campervan ticket permitting!). I understand from what I've read that there are both fresh water and grey water points in the campervan fields. My question is this, once parked up, I'm guessing that's you stationary for the rest of the festival, so what kind of things do you experienced campervanners use for getting fresh water to your camper van and grey water out of your camper van? cheers

cassandra13
hi, hope this helps. We go in a campervan and take 5ltr bottles of water to drink then as soon as we can after arrival fill up a aquaroll and some solar shower bags. It may be worth taking a few different connectors for the tap. Once any of the 5ltr bottles are empty we fill them up as we can as once the festie gets underway lots of people need the taps and an aquaroll takes ages to fill up and holds others up, a 5lt bottle is much more sociable. We have found that the water supply to the campervan fields is intermittent so we try to keep a good supply, which we have been able to share with others if they run out. jameshunt
For waste emptying - have a dedicated set of clothes (long sleeves) and a pair of rubber gloves! The splashback can be quite nasty.
rabid
Sack trolley? That's what we've used in the past to get all our gear from the car and then carry our water container back from the tap.
grumpyhack
An Aquaroll is the easiest way of transporting water if you've got to go any distance but you probably want to decant it into some smaller containers to do things like fill a kettle. If you're tenting it might be worth considering having a big flask to keep any spare water you've boiled warm so that it won't take as mjuch gas/time to re-heat it later. Octave Doctor
It really is my biggest tip to anyone in the CV fields - take loads of water carriers ( many more than you think you will ever need ) and as soon as you get there spend half an hour filling them all up. Its a pain but much more sense than queueing up for half an hour or so later in the fest.
