Paul ™
Legendary post-rockers Mogwai will release their new album, Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will, on February 14, 2011. Released on their own Rock Action label, it represents the Scottish group’s seventh full album, and was recorded this summer at Chem 19 studios, and mixed somewhere called The Castle of Doom (wow!). It’s produced by Paul Savage, who worked on the band’s revered debut album Mogwai Young Team, and represents a follow-up to 2008′s The Hawk is Howling, which met with mixed reviews but at times was excellent. In keeping in the tradition of Mogwai songs having great titles, the new album’s ten tracks include ‘Too Raging to Cheers’, ‘You’re Lionel Richie’ and ‘How to be a Werewolf’. Hardcore will also be released in limited edition form, which includes a 26-minute bonus CD made up of one piece titled ‘The Singing Mountain’, recorded for Douglas Gordon and Olaf Micolai’s ‘Monument for Forgotten Future’ installation in Essen, Germany. Mogwai have a ton of tour dates booked in for early next year; full list follows the tracklist.
