Solar Weekend

I was supposed to go to this in 2007 but couldn't make it in the end. It was the weekend before Pukkelpop in Belgium and I couldn't fit them both in unfortunately. A Dutch friend of mine had asked me to DJ in a small stage called 'the Halfspace' - there's a couple of clips on youtube of it which look like it was a lot of fun!

He's been a couple of times and loved it. It's pretty dance music orientated but you won't get any of the big headline acts like at Lowlands. He said there was loads of stuff going on aside from the music and the atmosphere in general was very laid back (although that didn't mean it wasn't hectic when the DJs/live bands were on!).

In an ideal world you would go to Solar first, have a couple of days in Amsterdam and then head to Lowlands but that would obviously cost a lot of money. I'll probably speak to my friend over the weekend and try and get a bit more info for you.

I suppose a big factor for you to consider is how much you like indie/rock music and whether you are prepared to forsake that to go to a festival that is pretty much dance music all weekend?
