Depending on how many of us are going, if its under 5 we'll drive else we'll get the southern vectis again, it was pretty good last time.

Looking forward to the announcement, feels like we've been waiting forever.

All in all, it's almost as broad as it is long but going in a car feels more practical and convenient.

We considered the idea of taking the boat over as foot passengers - not for any real ethical reason but because it's significantly cheaper, but when we saw that the train down from here to Southampton would cost somewhere in the region of £150 and up for a return, we decided that it would probably be a lot cheaper to just drive.

Train down costs £150, ferry returns cost £30, taxi to Travel Lodge would be £10-£20, taxi from Travel Lodge to Bestival would be another £10-£20.

Car costs £60 in fuel to and from Isle of Wight, ferry return costs £100 combined at off peak times, car park at Travel Lodge will be about £5, car park at Bestival costs £10.

It's a logistical nightmare if you think about it.

Ed Sheeran is going to be there according to numerous tweets including one to Rob saying "@RobdaBank thanks for the support dude :) really looking forward to bestival!"

Also, saw that Mat Horne tweeted "Aside of The Cure at Bestival, there's another hero(ine) playing. My 33rd bday is gonna be huge. Oh and ma boyz @themaccabees too!"

Guess thats Maccabees and Ed Sheeran TBC. Hero(ine) is interesting, anyone thinking Bjork or PJ Harvey?

Was just reading on the official forums that the mid-February announcement is for Camp Bestival and we should be expecting another Isle of Wight Bestival announcement some time between the end of February and March.
