Ive been trying to look into some acts who could be the last headline act for the main stage and found out some shit

You probably know most of this but here goes..

OZZY is free for Friday 10th he has gigs on the 9th in finland and 11th sweeden with a good break before and after these dates for a rest ??

Foo Fighters are free on the 10th and have gis on 9th switzerland and 11th isle of wight (close by)

Bon Jovi are a no go as they play Dresden on Friday 10th

I can find any tour dates or news at all for Soungarden but this could be a one off show ?

And also Velet Revolver look as if they have their new singer in Corey Taylor and im sure i read a while ago somewhere that he loves Download more than any other festival

so i wonder ???

why the f**k is this on the download front page?

Iconic rocker confused by former Led Zeppelin front man Robert Plant’s reluctance to reform.

We’re pretty sure we don’t know anyone who wouldn’t gnaw off their left arm for a Led Zeppeling reunion, but hopes of such a feat were shattered last week when front man Robert Plant told Rolling Stone that it just ain’t gonna happen.

"There's nothing worse than a bunch of jaded old farts, and that's a fact," he said.

One man who disagrees with that is none other than long time rock icon Alice Cooper, who in his infinite wisdom reckons there’s nothing wrong with getting on stage and belting out your classics to the crowd.

He recently sat down with Palm Springs Boxing Examiner to share his opinion on the subject.

"I go out on stage and say 'turn it up," Alice revealed. "I never get tired of playing my songs."

Speaking about a possible Zep reunion, Al really can’t see what’s standing in their way.

"Jimmy Page wants to do it. John Paul Jones wants to do it. And they got [late Zeppelin drummer John] Bonham's son [Jason], who is a killer drummer.

"All they need is Robert Plant. But what is Robert Plant out there doing? Playing folk music! What is he doing?" Cooper continued.

You tell him Alice!

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..............

Im starting to think the same thing about the 3rd headliner

I think A.C is holding out for someone and maybe has a cheaper option in reserve in case the number 1 target decides against it

I.e trying for Tool/Soundgarden but will end up with Ozzy and Scorpions..

Who f**kin' knows

But i don't see any point of holding back the name of a festival headline act. There are tickets to be sold

I dont think Corey WILL be in 3 bands TBH. I reckon VR could be his meal ticket. He has never committed to another slipknot album since PG passed away. I'm quite surprised they are doing festies this year TBH. Stone Sour has run its course - the new album aint great. I can see Slipknot going on hiatus after the summer, VR will be CT's big project, and SS will possibly continue as his "side project".

Just my opinion - many may disagree, but everyone knows that a band with the potential to be as big as VR potentially can, fronted by one of the best vocalist frontmen in the business will be a force to be reckoned with.

as much as I liked STP back in the day - Weiland was just an arsehole, and the only thing holding back VR in their early guise, their material was pretty good on the first album.

Okay i might be reading into this too much but il spit it out anyway. I remember reading from Efests Neil (i think) last year that if there is about to be a big announcement from a band you will hear their music being played around a bit more than usual (think he was referring to the Led Zep Glastonbury rumours last year)....

...well anyway....is the BBC announcing the next Download headliner? if so, in the last couple of days I have heard 'Tool' on the Radio1 Zane Lowe show....and also the advert for the Super Bowl on the BBC has 'Tool' background music. And how often do you hear Tool on the BBC? surely never? I could be talking rubbish but make of it what you will....... ;)
