johnybegood
Pukkelpop close to selling out - according to the website... Or could be that ticket sales are REALLY slow and they are trying to drum up interest?
TheNewUnion
Agreed. I think that day tickets will sell fast, depends on the next announcement for combi though as you rightly say last year only just sold out and there were many more marquee names in 2010. melviss
Festivals that are selling out don't need to remind people to buy tickets :-S
TheOffspring
It's a good marketing strategy(it was written in local newspapers) and people who really want to go bought there ticket because of it, I was one of them.
Mr.S
Keep in mind that Pukkelpop is still very cheap for a 3/4day festival and its simple to get too from a lot of central europe countries and the UK/Ireland. Pukkelpop gets more popular each year, and each year there are a lot more international folk. So I wouldn't be surprised if tickets are selling fast/nearly sold out. branvan
I'm shure they don't have to make a false announcement. they are honest and pukkelpop is selling out anyway. But I'm not quite happy with the line up so far, for me it's quite normal and not special as it used to be. I keep waiting...
benrothwell
No chance. Werchter didn't sell out for ages and that had a way better lineup. This wont sell out.
johnybegood
Lot of teenagers bands: 30 seconds to mars, Eminem, Good Charlotte, New Found Glory, Rise Against... and teens also like Offspring and Foo Fighters... AlsoPanic!at the disco and Simple Plan will be announced in a few weeks. I think that age average will be lower than other years... If tickets are being sold as fast as they say... Pukkelpop 2011 will be like an Under 18 concert... Line-up is soooooooooooooooooo dissanpointing!!!!!!!!!!!!
TheOffspring
But it is not sure that the way that the tickets were going out, still is going that fast, maybe every 'teenager' that wanted to go, bought his ticket. And I'm sure that there are still more than 50% is needed to go of the tix
branvan
so, finally decided not to go this year and give another festival a chance... last years pukkelpop was so great, but - compared to other festivals - I really don't like most of this year's bands and I really don't like the people these teenager bands attract. I have to make my decision now, because of flight prices, taking holidays etc., I'm sad there are no more (good) names (for me)... :-(
pryce
Feeder just confirmed for Frequency and Area4 ..... got to be a string rumour now time is going so slow! feels much longer than a couple of weeks since we learned who were playing! i want a 2nd update not expecting it for another two weeks though
benrothwell
Thursday day tickets sold out - guess the Foos were a big draw. Wonder what % of tickets available are day tickets
karelaanzee
New names on their site. The Offspring is Saturday Headliner #weak

TheNewUnion
Some great names in the new release. OK it's not Radiohead, Arctic Monkeys and Daft Punk but the likes of Friendly Fires, The Kills, F**ked Up, Sub Focus, Katy B, Avett Brothers, Berdyman and Gomez are great additions. We're still thinking that it's lacking a little bit of oomph, especially on the Saturday. But there's still more than enought to fill my time (Saturday headline may be a problem at the moment, not inspiring).
BruceBuffer
I agree, there are a few great acts in the latest announcement. Are Gomez definitely playing though? Don't see them on the official website. A couple were announced earlier and now seem to have bee taken down again (Odd Future and Ting Tings being two). Disappointing headliner for Saturday but there is definitely a lot of good acts I'll happily go and see.
TheOffspring
Some just don't like dEUS because it is a belgian band! It is stupid that they let Eminem come, pukkelpop spend most of there money on him...
Semprini
Well I'm very happy with this announcement. There's a few on my wish list that have come in (Friendly Fires, Sub Focus, Fake Blood and Cage the Elephant), some I didn't see coming but am very pleased about (Azari & III, Matthew Dear and Beardyman) and a fair few I will probably catch over the weekend if clashes permit (Chromeo, Etienne De Crecy, Katy B and Crystal Fighters). I've also got quite a lot of new bands to check out so it's all looking good so far!! Edited May 16, 2011 by Semprini
boarderwoozel3
There's a enough smaller indie bands and electronic acts to keep me busy for sure, but overall it still lacks that 'wow' factor. Hmmmm.

johnybegood
The weakest line-up in Pukkelpop history.... im wondering how much money are they gonna spend in Eminem... RIDICULOUS!!!!
pryce
i bet foo fighters dont come cheap either plus seen them twice and been awful twice like people have said enough smaller bands to keep me interested but no 'wow' or 'thats different' bands yet
