by the sounds of the camping experience.... you would be better turning up a bit later and setting up your camp a bit futher up

but that sounds one of the worst ideas ever ... i can slightly see what they were thinking of doing ie first come get the best positions but if your not good at putting up a tent then it wouldnnt be the best of experiences!

im thinking of turning up mid dayish on the weds if thats the case

Sounds like a nightmare - I imagined the hotels would be expensive even though tickets aren't on sale yet for the festival but I'll have a look anyway. I'm not good at putting tents up, and would be far far worse under alot of pressure! Leaves me very unsure about the festival really.

I booked our hotel back in November (Holiday Inn Express) and it was still 372 euros for four nights then. I've just found the email from when we had the same booking back in 2007 and we paid 208 euros :O I think Trufflehound has already checked but I would be very surprised if there's any rooms left at this stage. I think they may actually hold some back as there's always loads of bands and crew staying there every year, bearing in mind some of them probably haven't even been booked for the festival yet.

Although I've never camped, I have been into the campsite a few times for a look around and they do pack the tents together pretty tight. However, I have noticed that a lot of people seem happy to sit by the side of the road drinking all day on Wednesday until things calm down so that might be another option.

@DiscothequeDave: I never did hear what happened to you last year??? I tried to text you quite a few times when I got my wristband on Wednesday evening to say they were checking ID but it wouldn't go through for some reason. Not sure if I had the wrong number but I take it you made it in??

Anyone up for a bit of this in the Dance Hall? He's playing Bestival and Electric Picnic so fingers crossed.....

Should definitely be an annoucement tomorrow.

Some wags suggesting The Strokes, Foo Fighters, Artic Monkeys as headliners. I'd have thought Arcade Fire more likely instead of AM but we will see.

On a personal level I'd expect to see the return of Florence and the Machine, Temper Trap, Mumford and Sons (main stage this time) too - well, I can certainly hope!

Chemical Brothers to co-headline one night?

Would expect to see Interpol, Dropkick Murphys, Kaiser Chiefs, The Vaccines, Panic at the Disco, Crystal Fighters, Crystal Castles, Friendly Fires, Nero, Jamie Woon, Ed Sheeran, Frank Turner, Beady Eye, The Wombats, Razorlight

Sure you afficionados would have plenty of other names that you can throw out - or names that I've listed to slate!

When camping is included in ticket price, surely it makes no sense to pay 300+ euros for a hotel further away?

Pukkelpop will hopefully be one of the first stops on an interrail trip this summer, after a few days in Amsterdam and before 3 weeks of European bliss, ending in Outlook festival in Croatia.
