Caught a trailer for this at the end of dexter, the Americans have remade shameless with William h macy as Frank, there is a twenty min preview available now

Haven't had chance to watch it, but could this really be remade set in America?? Very British setting in my opinion

Will probably watch it at some point. Anything with William H Macy is worth watching.

Don't see why it wouldn't work being set in America. Britain doesn't hold a monopoly on run down areas and drunken dads

He was in Fargo, Magnolia & Pleasantville but I have a feeling you would know him from Wild Hogs.

just googled him. recognise the face. must be pleasantville cos i've only seen that and psycho that he's been in.

Getting a bit sick of these remakes to tell the truth, also saw the trailer for the US versions of Skins and Being Human, the latter being done by Syfy when they have just axed Caprica and Stargate universe, probably something to do with costs and risk.

Just watched the trailers for the US versions of Shameless and Skins. Both look a bit daft to me. How many British shows have they took over to the US to remake and actually had sucess? The Office is an obvious one but when you look at some of the others they've tried like Spaced and Peep.Show, they haven't really came to much.

Absolutely, the septics remade 'steptoe and son', 'fawlty towers', 'dear john', and, 'reggie perrin' and they were all bobbins.

Lost only strengthens the argument US TV is crap, just make up bullshit as you go along and as long as enough people are confused with the bullshit they will think intelligent.

The Wire & The Sopranos on the other hand are quality US shows.

Just watched the trailiers for Shameless and Skins, bit odd especially with all the same names and very similar plot line.(Epesh skins seems entirely pointless and just changing it for americanisms.
