Well, I've brought the day in seizing the initiative in the battle of Christmas dinner.

Spuds par boiled and now cooling off before being roasted tomorrow.

Sprouts sliced and steamed off, will be mixed with buttered leeks.

Red onions quartered and roasted in bay, red wine and gin.

Carrots slices into battons and roasted with orange.

The last two will be getting a final 25 mins tomorrow on a high heat to crisp up and caramelise.

Christmas day at brother in law's house. His grown up daughters don't speak to his new wife and one of them is going through a separation from her husband, who's also invited, so they'll all be there putting on grim smiles. Promises to be a laugh a minute!

Still at least we'll have Boxing Day at home visited by my two daughters.
