Bad things about your day

We've got no water coming into the house because the underground water pipe that comes up the lane to our house has frozen.

No water means no way to flush toilets and nothing to cook or wash with.

It feels a bit like camping at Glasto. Maybe I'll have to construct a long drop at the bottom of the garden. Either that or wait for the thaw.

Still no incoming mains water but the penny dropped this morning that we have snow everywhere so have filled buckets and when it thaws we should at least be able to flush where we've spent pennies.

UPDATE: No longer a bad thing about the day. Sorted out the pump down the hill. We're too high up the mountain to have a mains feed as the pressure isn't enough so the water goes to a small pumping station which I share with three neighbours and the water is pumped up from there. Turned out we had a problem with our pump which I fixed with the help of a neighbour - and we've now got water.

Even 24 hours without water really makes you realise just how vital it is - and also how important Glasto charities like WaterAid are.

The light bulbs have all gone in the kitchen and we have no replacement ones, I don't even know what kind of lightbulb they are some stupid ones that I can't get from the shop down the road, so working in the kitchen by a lamps light. Not so bad I suppose!

In the past three or four days:

Come down with a very bad cold that's meaning I'm feeling awful, constantly dehydrated

Had someone run into my car and drive off before I could get their number

Warning lights appear on my car.

Stone chipped my car windscreen (which I'm selling soon)

Split with my (now ex) girlfriend.

Had the flat I was due to move into today flood, so it's all off. It was the perfect flat in the perfect location and within budget, so I'm back to doing a 105 mile round trip every day to work which is f**king killing me, I hate travelling.

In no particular order of "OH, f**k OFF" ness of course.
