I don't see them as the same, Libertines were a band that were gonna be huge but never did and Pulp were huge but past it when they split and a lot of teens knew Libertines as it was only a few years ago but Pulp was 2 decades ago.

There's noo way Pulp could be in the NME tent. Referring to IOW I thought the 3 big headliners were booked already and then Pulp reformed for Wireless, so they decided to throw them in as sub headliner (which obviously called for a large sum of money). Not sure if it was true but it sounds logical; also makes sense that they would advertise them as "headliners"

Think about it logically.

P1. Reading Fest is much more famous than IOW fest.

P2. Pulp are only subbing at IOW.

C. Pulp only stand a chance of subbing at Reading.

Isle of wight festival is incredibly famous, I'd say more than Reading. Reading has had some great stuff like Nirvana, etc.

Nothing can top 600,000 people going to the IOW to see Jimi Hendrix in 1970.

That one year of Isle Of White is famous, overall Reading is a more famous festival, or at least it's by far a bigger festival.

I'm not doubting the fame of The Isle Of white festival but that festival and the festival they have now are completely different, in recent history Reading is a far more famous festival.

although they are due to play the ally pally which is huge.

They're definitely big enough, headlined second stage at Glastonbury and Saturday of Bestival.

They definitely could, I'd like them under Muse. Think they could do main stage nicely.

Can't remember if they've been mentioned yet, but I'd say White Lies are pretty likely to be headlining one night.

Could stereophonics headline? They seemed to paly every festival but leeds last year. I know that if they played they would probably want a sub headline spot, maybe third on the day that strokes and pulp are there... (I know nme dont like them that much as well, does that matter too much when it comes to who headlines the stage?)

I reckon Crystal Castles for one..

The fact people are questioning White Lies headling NME but not Crystal Castles is laughable. CC are nowhere near big enough. At best they could be joint headliners with White Lies/The XX. See Gossip + Glasvegas in 2008. Glasvegas only had one album, Gossip only had one sucessful album. But both more sucessfull than Crystal Castles.

Flaming Lips, White Lies/Crystal Castles and something heavy for a day to clash with The Strokes.
