NME HEADLINERS?

The fact people are questioning White Lies headling NME but not Crystal Castles is laughable. CC are nowhere near big enough. At best they could be joint headliners with White Lies/The XX. See Gossip + Glasvegas in 2008. Glasvegas only had one album, Gossip only had one sucessful album. But both more sucessfull than Crystal Castles.

Flaming Lips, White Lies/Crystal Castles and something heavy for a day to clash with The Strokes.

Point is they're headlining NME tour, not whether they're big enough or not.

I cant see CC moving up two slots just because theyre headlining the nme tour. I dont even think theyre gonna be there personally

Fair enough, I didn't realise that. Weak headliner for the tour as well as NME then I'd say.

The Macabees didn't headlin in 2010. I guess it's an argument if 5th on main stage is bigger than headlining NME. I'd say not, but I guess its not too disimilar.

I doubt there would be a problem for a dance act to headline the NME becuase they are a dance act but the problem is Creamfields happens at the same weekend leaving slim pickings. I think that was one of the reasons why they reduced the amount of days the Dance Stags was on for.

Crystal Castles would probably be a slightly bigger draw than White Lies are. Whilst CC have kept up momentum pretty much since their debut, the hype from White Lies' album seems to have died down massively. Presumably because most people realised it was a load of cack.

I watched CC at Reading back in '08 and it honestly sounded like a cat was being strangled. They were shite in my opinion.

I can see Magnetic Man getting quite a high spot in the NME tent this year.

Hopefully neither White Lies or Crystal castles headline. I feel like the standard of the NME headliners has deteriorated the last few years.

I'd agree with that, although I also think the quality of the FR headliners has been getting better.
