Christmas--an observation...

Well. we`re just a pack of wasteful,greedy bas-f**kin-tards really.

Thats my observation.

...and it puts me into an even bigger corner of despair tbh.

Firstly.. I been "working" in Tesco (not for money..too complicated for here!!)..anyway... when you see it--from the shop floor.. what an eye opener. Honestly--the amount of food thats thrown out is boggling.

eg.. woman comes to me and says "How much is this son?" -- i`m 52yrs old but she calls me son!... its a huge f**k off joiint of beef.. the sticker had came off. So i went to check... it couldn`t be sold!!! Cos the sticker with the weight/cost etc had came off.

A lovely joint..tossed out. I was appalled.

Bins... i know the weather has played its part with collections etc..but when i look round where i live--and see the overflowing wheelie bins chokka block.. I wonder how much decent stuff is being tossed out.

I remember "ordinary bins"--like Top Cat used to scrounge in... f**k me--he`d have a field day round our way!

And Christmas itself... how much did you spend?

Even though my sausage didnt stretch to it... I cleaned out the high street fashionables... ie Barnados, Age Concern and Hal-Ziemers to the tune of £35 and got all me Xmas pressies.

I`m always conscious of spending brass at Chrimbo me--even when I`ve got money... it never feels right to me...with so much shit in the World... and millions of people with f**k all.. we sit here chowin into trays of Toffifees and Ferrero Rotchets eh.

You unfortunates in Ireland... bet its brought home to you about the basics in life eh (wonder how Nalbandian has washed his knob in all the cold watter eh?).

On this day 1965-- me sister began her journey into being a SKELLYTON.

I f**kin hate New Years Eve me... gets me all melon-colly.

I`m sat wallowing in self-pity cos me gas has ran out and its f**kin freezin... but I try to tell mesell, theres always folks worse off.

And how true is that eh.

I`ve had the willpower to save some Port and Jim Beam from my Xmas Parcel from the South... and will try get mesell out of it before that awful f**kin anthem of Auld Slangs Sign pervades every home at the bell of 12.

Ah--I`m wafflin now.

But... here--you have a look round you now--see how much waste there is.

aye. an tha.

Den OIP :(

I'm with you on hating the excess that seems to be part & parcel of Christmas for so many people.

My favourite Christmas present was bought from a Charity shop, a brand new coat. I love the coat itself, it's fab, but more than anything I love the fact that the money went to charity not yet another money grabbing multinational.

The pleasure to be had from giving is the best part of Christmas for me. Not great big expensive gifts, but 'just the right thing' even if it only cost pennies.(When I get the chance, I love to make all my presents.)

As is often said, it's the THOUGHT that counts.

soooo..

christmas is a hypocritical, capitalist celebration of glutony, excess and materialism

you've only just twigged?

Modern interpretation, the victorian letter was the whole down the chimney, reindeers etc.

I'm still drunk in bed at 5, I went into London for the sales and walked past Next and saw a massive queue in the afternoon and they were only letting 1 in, 1 out, so I didn't bother and on the way home dropped into a small town where it has the same stock but less fuss.

it's only a race if you try to compete

we had no problem not watching any tv this christmas... what was worth watching?

I don't get the whole 'let's eat until we're fit to burst' dinner.. food stops being anywhere near enjoyable when you're full

I don't know why you seem to get wound up by irrelevancies, like where people are from
