Well first things first, Reading most likely won't bring back a headliner that had previously headlined the past 5 years, unless they produced a very very good performance. As people say, we are of course, not T in the Park Looks like anybody hoping for Arctic Monkeys, RHCP, Pearl Jam or possibly Muse is out of their luck.

So it's either gonna really be Blur, Green Day or MCR. Blur just seems fitting. If MCR headline, they would probably get a smaller crowd than AF did last year. And Green Day is rumoured EVERY YEAR, but after their new album last year, they may want to do one or two shows during their break, so READING?!

Either way there are numerous other stages to visit so in my opinion it doesn't matter if they headlined, as i would avoid the stage completely.

They could easily headline, if Muse are headlining Reading Friday and The Strokes on Reading Saturday, I think they'd be suited to the "legends slot" like Radiohead were. Give the "heavy day" to Muse, let The Strokes have all the NME Indie toss, and then have a mixed line-up on Pulp's day, The Prodigy, Manics and Feeder would all make a good run up.

I have no reason to doubt Neil's rumours. Greenday headlining MCR day sounds right too. I don't think that this would happen but I'd love to see an act come out of left field completely, e.g. Neil Young or, say, Depeche Mode. After all, those 2 have probably influenced more than half of the last 5 year's headliners between them.
