Peter Yates, the British film director, possibly best known for his car chase in Bullitt starring Steve McQueen, has died aged 81.

I loved the burbling sound of those V8s.

Well was going to say if you didn't drive, then that's why you don't like chase scenes maybe?, But has you do drive I can't really answer that one...

i drive and don't really get the whole car chase thing. i thought the one with the mini in that bourne film was pretty good. but just don't get the love that lots of people have for them in general.

also, these deaths have been rubbish so far. when we gonna get a big name?
