kristiancarter
What do people make of the new Capital FM? I'm massively impressed by the roster of stars they have managed to pull together for the advert - even if the music isn't to everyone's taste. I'd go as far as to say that it's maybe the best advert for a radio station that I've ever seen. Is this a new era for radio?
ampersand
it's an insulting advert. and full of lies. tinchy stryder putting his success hugely down to capital fm. aye, right you are!
fraser_k
"Without the radio, a hit is not a hit" That's a straight off lie, there's many songs that have been hits without getting any radio play!

eFestivals
just what the world needs - an even more bland station than radio 1. Once upon a time Capital was genius - Nickie Horne, and Rodigan. It's been shit for nearly 30 years now. amy246
I miss my old radio station (Ram FM) now all of us east midland-ers have to share a channel - it means un-local news and travel updates and presenters who you don't know and who don't know your city. There's various facebook groups against it already into hundreds, if not thousands of people against merging the radio stations.
Alcatraz
FM radio these days is incredibly dull. Especially in my area (the South West). Radio 1 (just during the day tbf), Heart, Kiss, Total Star (local) and Jack FM (local) all do the same exact thing. I mean whats the point?! When I'm in Birmingham there's a brilliant station which I presume is pirate as it sounds like its done in a shipping container where you get patois spoken for about 10 minutes scattered with booming laugh and a sprinkling of dub thrown in. I'm somewhat confused by the original poster. Capial's advertising budget wearing a bit thin? Edited January 11, 2011 by Alcatraz

Jaybles
Im guessing the local radio stations they merged were faced with becoming capital radio or closing down. I think plenty of these radio stations were struggling financially. I lost track of what my local station used to be before....back in the days it was power fm. But yea they have just replaced a local bland pop station with a national bland pop station. Im sure its a similar case all over the place. If we actually lost a good radio broadcast to this new capital FM then i might have been more upset.

Gre
You would think an ad agency employee wouldnt be tolling an internet forum to advertise his product. Standards went downhill much?
dakyras
Its not even that clever - if what Dakyras posted is correct, he works for the company that own f**king Capital FM. Edited January 12, 2011 by dakyras
fraser_k
Exactly. It's from his LinkedIn profile. Just search Kristian Carter in Google. Not even intelligent enough to use a nom de guerre.
