Last year I caught the plane from Dublin (after being over there for 3 days) at 6:45am to Bristol, then caught the train back to Exeter (an hour from Bristol), collected my Glasto stuff, packed for a European trip the week after, got train to Castle Cary and was onsite by 2pm.

From Bristol, even by public transport, you should be there before lunchtime.

theres a few of us going from belfast - we were planning on flying to bristol on the wednesday then getting the train etc from temple meads etc, but someone else on here, that was going from belfast said they're flying to bristol on the tuesday, staying in a hostel so they can get supplies (drink, food etc) then head to the festival early on the wednesday....considering doing this now - means im not rushing around getting alcohol before heading to the festival etc

Last year we flew to London on the wednesday morning and hung around there for the day, then got the train down around 7ish.

Flew back monday evening around 6.

This year we're going on tuesday night and staying with Friends in London and going down early wednesday.

Heading on holidays the following tuesday from London for a week, so no need to worry about racing back for a flight!

Hey,

Have been travelling to Glasto from Dublin since 2002.

Our group always pre-book a taxi through a company outside Bristol and fix the price there and then. It's always worked out brilliant.

They meet us in the airport, we stop off in a supermarket along the way for beers, etc and then they meet us at mid-day on the following Monday to run us back to the airport for the 3pm flight.

It's always been well easy so I'd reccomend that.

Between five of us the taxi usually works out at around £22 a head return, which is nearly as cheap as the bus from Bristol and less ball ache.

Also, we've never (touch wood) hit any traffic really. Driver always uses the back roads, so we miss all the buses and other traffic.
