jeeso, a 5 page thread just repeating the same shite we've all been talking about for months.

leeds headliners never (or rarely) play other english festivals. the only other festivals in the UK that are big enough to share a headliner are isle of wight and T in the park and i can't see some of the rumoured leeds acts headlining those festivals.

so they would obviously be exclusives. we must have all known this already.

There's no chance that Kanye would headline R&L but that's not to say another Hip Hop act could headline and the same goes for a Dance act. The festival will book the acts who are most suited and will sell most tickets regardless of the genre of music they are.

Here I'm referring to the crowd reaction and not about their music, but music wise I find them both annoying and pretentious.

Does anyone remember that fake feud they had when they said who ever lost would retire from music and when 50 Cent lost they came out and said it's bullshit.

I'm actually not so sure Kanye wouldn't be approached.. he's on the hip hop side yeah, but he's recently struck a chord with the pretentious pitchfork reading lot, so maybe the bookings would be in his favour after all.

I just can't see it, it takes a certain type of Hip Hop act to win over the R&L crowd and I don't think Kanye fits that bill. If they booked him it'd be a massive gamble and I don't think it'd pay off. He's much more suited to V fest IMO.

I'm sure he'd put on an amazing show but the crowd at R&L can be a very unforgiving crowd, all it would take would be a few w*nkers in the crowd throwing stuff (and there would be), it would probably spread to a few more then Kanye would walk off. Sad but true. Although musically he may be respected the general consensus of most people is that as a man he's a c**t and people won't forget that.

Unless jayz headlines this year or next I can only see Dizzee being the next hip hop act to headline the festival. He has quite a few heavier tracks and has recently said he like to bring a rock album out off the back of his performances at reading and Leeds. His crowd was huge but he was on before the libertines aswell which could have boosted the crowd. I'd still say in two or 3 years he will headline, him and biffy next to step up.
