what do you count as hits? bjork doesnt really do the single thing and just does perfect albums. of course bjork couldnt play r&l, but thats says more for the festival than anything else.

do you only want bands to play with big hits? when was the last pulp hit? when was arcade fire hit? when was ratm last hit? metallica? rem? list goes on and on.

debut was huge in the mid 90s, and she pulled away from the media game but still made masterpieces of music like vesterine and homegenic. she has been making music since 1977 so she cant be to bad, and unlike alot of bands around she is a worldwide star. she still sells out at her gigs and would be totally perfect for latitiude, bestival, glasto etc etc.

but liek you said bjork would never play now, as she would expect a very good place on the lineup and not below bloc party.

Of course I don't want acts just with hits but they have to have some appeal to a younger audience. How many under 25s could name more than one Bjork song? Not many. The festival is a completely different entity nowadays. Bjork played at a time when she was relevant to the Reading crowd, sadly that was a long time ago now.
