Camper Van site question

Hi Y'all,

Thinking about popping my sonisphere cherry this year as a few friends are going etc etc

What I'd like to avoid is purchasing all the expendable camping gear I usually buy (Tent etc) I drive a van and was wondering if they allow people to sleep in vans etc or if the vehicle has to specifically be a camper, a few of my friends managed it at last year (A friend and his 10 year old son slept in a van whilst another friend used a tent pitched nearby).

My van is all carpeted and quite well maintained on the inside (its ued for transporting expensive a/v equipment.

Anyone have any ideas??
