I was thinking of leaving just before the headliner as I'm flying and it's not for work or something...bit of a risk to take don't you think..The again, have to be at Manchester airport at 5 so will pretty much have to.

My car won't get jammed in will it, is it organised well

I left about midnight on the Sunday last year.

I carted all my stuff out in the morning and when I got to my car I put a string of solar party lights on my dashboard so I could spot my car from a distance.

Worked fabulously and within 15 minutes of getting back to my car I was offsite and on my way.

I booked a Travelodge room on the M6 at Birmingham and crashed there and drove into work all lovely and clean (but zombified) on the Monday morning.

Finding the car hasn't been problematic for us. It's easy to remember which field you're in and they are all pretty distinctive with different shaped trees/pylons/gradients etc. so you can give yourself visual clues which will get you pretty close. That said, never ha to find a car in the dark....

  • 2 weeks later...

Last year we left on the sunday night. We packed up our tents in the bottom left of the map at about 1am, got to our car in the very top left of the map (across the main road from the main site) at about 2am. We'd made note of which field to aim for and used the remote lock/unlock buttons on my keyring to find the car by it's flashing when we got to the right field.

We faced empty roads all the way home and got to bed in exeter about 4am after dropping friends home and stopping for a loo break.

Made a nice change to have no hassle on the roads or leaving the carparks but I was absolutely shattered and grumpy.
