Buyer's Remorse

Has anyone had buyer's remorse before? That feeling that you get when you've made a purchase and you feel guilty about it, not neccessarily because you can't afford it, but it's just a waste? I think the only thing I've bought that I felt bad about it, and that was a sofa, but I got over it when it finally got delivered. Anyone else?

The kids bought me a toilet brush and holder ages ago. Its just not worth it for me. I have my stick and that does the trick every month or so.

I`m trying to think of anything I`ve bought which has brought the feelings the thread alludes to and I suppose the thing i buy a lot of and sometimes dont bother with is...books.

Oh--- a BMW--off evil bay. A total f**kin lemon. What were we thinking of???

aye--that was bad.

I got it really bad just after Christmas when me and the bloke spent £800 in around ten minutes flat on a new DSLR camera and an Ipad. £800 is an enormous amount of money to me, it wasn't even my money but I still must have asked him 900 times if he was sure in those quick ten minutes :(

I do love my camera though and I have become an Ipad divorcee so it's all good.

Every time when I spend a fortune on my bicycle.

It's perfectly fine as it is... but I'm constantly splashing out and making it better. Last month it was a new front derailleur, two weeks ago is was a fancy new set of lights, last night I bought it some new (thinner) tyres because I got a puncture at the weekend. I've even been thinking about a new handlebar and shifter set that I totally don't need but would really like.

- So there's that time between order the stuff, and the stuff arriving. That part is pretty bad.

- Then I fit all the stuff, and feel really bad that I spent all that money.

- Then I actually get out and ride it, and all is very good again!

And so the cycle starts over again ('scuse the pun)

A BMW? That'll teach you to have aspirations.

There's been a few times I've been drunkenly bidding on things on eBay then woke the next morning thinking shit, but luckily I've always been outbid. Apart from that i'm normally quite happy with what I've got even if I might feel slightly guilty at first.

See--some people could read that and think you are mad spending so much money on a bike eh..but it sounds like you are really into it. What the f**k is a front deerailyure? I thought they were the gear things at the back..). Its passion isnt it...and if you got a passion... people do all sorts of seemingly illogical things eh.FPTTL.

The derailleur is the lever that moves (de rails) the chain from one ring of gear teeth, to another gear ring...

It's not like the shit I'm putting on the bike is going to waste... I average about 75 miles a weekend on the bike, and about 40 during the week to and from work... so it get's used. I just know that really, it works fine and dandy as it is... I just want to make it just that little bit better all the time. lol.
