Chrisbristol
Hi all. Just wanted some personal experience info about the different camping fields. Being a noob I have limited knowledge. I have looked at the site map so am fairly familiar with the names and positions. The kind of stuff I want to know is how quickly each one seems to fill up, the noise/atmosphere in each one how far from the cars/gates or stages etc they are time wise. The type of ground ie hills/flatter. What sort of times does it start to become difficult to find space. Basically which are your favourite areas. Thanks everyone
LusciousLucy
The answers will come to you in time. There are a few months yet and plenty of threads to come on the subject. Sorry for blunt answer. I have plenty to give myself but I just read this as I am heading to the Land of Nod. Just a quicky to get started... Pennards, Park Home and Big Ground are all nearly full by 4pm on Wednesday these days. Last year may have been down to the footy being on at 3pm but those 3 are the most popular fields. But seriously, there will be and have been loads of threads about this. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for juicy nuggets of info.
LusciousLucy
PS. Everyone has their own personal favourite. If you say what YOU want to do, distances happy to travel, time between arriving and set up, suggested/hoped for intentions for particular stage preferences - this may help in getting a more direct set of answers provided. Your list is very far stretching and all encompassing. I am sure Glasto Earth(?) will have a lot of the answers too. One things for certain though...expect to have your brain boggled as there are many many options and answers to take on. The best bit of advice is... just go with it and forget everything once you arrive...which is hopefully what you will do anyway Too much planning leads to disappointment. Getting lost and learning from your mistakes is part of the journey. Edited February 6, 2011 by LusciousLucy

herzzreh
To add to this... Most likely we'll get there either very late Wednesday night or sometime on Thursday. Closer to action, the better. Which field give us best chances?

SoCalMusicLover
Is this a fair guess as to which fields will fill up first? 1. Pennards 2. Park Home 3. Row Mead 4. Big Ground I was leaning towards Row Mead, because of it's view of the Pyramid stage, but now I'm thinking that back by Pennards and Park Home is a better overall choice. We would be arriving sometime between 9 and noon on Wednesday, so I'm hoping that's not going to be too late for those fields. We will only have a 3-4 person tent, so won't need a ton of space. gooner1990
Kidney Mead tends to fill up pretty fast these days too.
Wirephil
On a slight tangent, and being a first timer myself, once on site are the fields sign-posted and is it easy enough to find a particular field i.e. I know that I want to try to get in Pennard and have an idea on a map where it is, however, at ground level one field looks much like another! Wirephil
You'll get a map with you tickets which is pretty easy to follow. Just take into account which car park you're likely to be in (east or west) and hence the Entry Gate you will be coming in from. I've tried the following Pennards : busy and noisy so if you want some sleep take earplugs. Its on a hill close to Stone Circle and you can see/hear the other stage. Dairy : quieter a night (this has been my choice recently) TBH it doesn't matter where you camp
