Primus have just announced UK dates for just after Sonisphere...

They have tourdates on the 9th and 10th in Europe. Friday has no room for them, Soni fb confirmed on the comments that they wanted to get them at Sonisphere too, but they couldn't. Which sucks

why is there no room for them on Friday?? so far there is 5 bands for Friday.....i think there is going to be quite a few more bands yet for the Friday!

I would say Primus are a shoe-in for the Friday......friends with Metallica and have the 6th, 7th and 8th free....at least one of those dates will be filled! Soni are fibbing, they are just waiting for the 2 tour dates to sell-out and then they will be announced, bet u any money u like!

edit: okay not as much a shoe-in as i first thought! bloody Oxygen fest is the same weekend as Soni, may well be there, if they wana do a show in ireland aswell. 50-50 id say....

...i wont be half furious if soni have missed out on Primus! :angry:

Friday last year had 5 mainstage bands, bands who mostly weren't half as big as this Fridays bands. Primus really couldn't fit in too.

There's really no room for anymore bands on the Friday, Sonisphere's facebook guy loves Priums and he seemed pretty gutted to say they won't be playing. They won't be playing it seems.

They won't do Oxygen, they'll do their EU fests over Soni weekend then do a couple of their own UK dates. Hoping they add in a few more once the initial two sell out - inc one in Scotland cause so far the UK tour has 2 English dates and that's it...

Nope totally disagree with u mate, Friday last year was just a bonus half day and just bands for the 2nd stage. Now its a full day like sat & sun. Slayer and Megadeth are currently the 2nd and 3rd biggest bands for Friday and they normally occupy 3rd/4th top positions at festivals. Diamond head and Anthrax will be opening the mainstage. So there is about 4 slots left for mainstage Friday and a whole 2nd stage to be announced. And by the looks of it so far, friday mainstage is currently bands that have strong links to Metallica and Primus fit that criteria quite well.

Still Loads of room for Primus to be announced.

Also dont believe the Sonisphere twitter/facebook, they will be under contract to deny Primus are playing so they can sell out these 2 gigs asap. And iv noticed on the facebook status. Soni said something like "we tried to book them but they are defently not playing"....and now they seem to have deleted that particular comment. I will bet u any money u like Primus will be playing the Friday.
