Stu H
Sorry if this has been posted, i've had a search and couldn't find anything relevant. Can anyone recommend anywhere online for decent tent sales, that they have used and are happy with? I know there's a host of places out there, but ideally would like to try somewhere recommended by festival go-ers - and if anyone can recommend a particular brand etc which has stood up to the test. I've seen plenty of cheapo £20 tents but i'm always wary of something that will fly away with the first gust of wind, or be like sleeping in a bin liner for 5 days ! glasto-worker
I did spot this and its a good price at £ 35 + postage http://www.newquaycampingshop.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=65_75&products_id=452 I own a Vango Alpha 400 and as I work at many festivals each year it gets lots of use. its the black/gray tent in lots of shots at http://www.wbc-team.co.uk/2009-2009/wbc-image-2009-2009-1.html it has loads of room inside and the all important porch comes in very handy when it rains as it protects the inner door which remained dry even although there was a huge storm is 2009 that blew down a few of the tents I was pitched beside. saratink
I bought a tent from millets online last week, half price. A eurohike 3 man with a nice sized porch similar shape to my dead 2 man one that's.lasted years. Cost.me £40 plus £5 postage
Bisque
As the weather picks up, plenty of pop up tents start going on sale on eBay. I bought a Gelert Quikpitch 2 man tent (I don't recommend it but I already had one & managed to fit two of these tents folded up into one disc bag!) for a pound. Postage can be a bit steep though as they are large items to post. My favourite tent so far has been my Eurohike Flash III tent. £60, double layered, larger enough for 2 + hiking bags & 3/4 crates of booze. If you don't want a pop up tent then I'm not much help but I would definitely recommend my Eurohike Flash III. Probably best you go to Millets, Halfords, plenty of professional camping shops around where I work in Covent Garden first, try the tent out if you can, get the make & model number & then order online somewhere doing it cheaper eg eBay or just whack the make, model into price comparison websites like Ciao UK site. Then at least you should get what you expected! Edited February 26, 2011 by zerocouch
