THE

LONDON INTL SKA FESTIVAL: 5 APRIL'11 NEWS UPDATE

.......... ......... ..........

THE SKA FLAMES

We are very sorry to announce that due to the devastating events in Japan The Ska Flames are no longer able to play at The London Intl Ska Festival (21-24 April'11). In the words of band leader Okawa Takeshi "All The Ska Flames and their families are ok, but the situation around us is changing everyday affecting our friends, relatives, and businesses, which makes it impossible for the band to leave Tokyo now. We are running out of foods and fuel not only in stricken areas but also in Tokyo. We have some friends who were injured. Some of them lost their houses and have no food, water or electricity. Some of them died. We have lost a lot of important things. I'm so sorry to say that we cannot go to London to play at your festival this time. All the members of The Ska Flames have been looking forward to going to London and playing at the Ska Festival".

We are happy to say Okawa Takeshi, will be making the trip by himself from Japan for our festival, to DJ on the opening night on 21 April'11. I hope you will join us in wishing The Ska Flames & Japan all the very best in these unbelievably hard times. Anyone who's purchased a ticket to see The Ska Flames and would like a refund please contact the point of purchase.

We will be taking a collections throughout The London Intl Ska Festival for the Save The Children - Japanese Appeal, who although have amazingly already reached the initial targets their work there is very much ongoing. Please take a look at the appeal here www.savethechildren.org.uk/en/japan-earthquake-and-tsunami-appeal.htm
