I started a topic in Glasto chat yesterday. It was a spoof about a regular Glasto Goer doing a questionaire to find out more about students. All a bit of harmless fun to put a smile on peoples faces, bearing in mind there seems to be a few students joining Glasto chat for the sole purpose of gathering info on festivals etc.

The topic has now disappeared. I take it, it was deleted?

If so, is it not the policy, or at least a mater of courtesy, to be informed... -The Topic has been deleted, and - The reason why?

If only so I if I know why, I wont make the same mistake again.

with warm regards, and no complaint meant.

yep, the topic was deleted.

The topic was taking the piss out of the number of student questionaires, by pretending to be another one. Is that irony or anti-irony? I'm not sure.

But what it does is adds to the effect of the very thing that it was taking the piss out of - which seems more than a little counter-productive, even tho I recognise from your side it was just a bit of fun.

While I'm quite happy for these boards to give assistance to students (as long as any individual doesn't post across all forums - efestivals doesn't even do that with things which would be to efestivals' benefit), the very fact that you made the post you did gets to show that they bug people at times - and creating something as you did which appears to be yet another of them bugs people further.

It's not forum policy to always inform someone of a topic being deleted. In an ideal world I guess it would be, but (for example) in the last ten minutes I've deleted a number of threads from spammers where contacting them would be pointless, sometimes when I delete stuff I'm too tied up with other tasks to feel able to devote that few minutes to giving an explanation as to why, and in your particular case I thought you'd been around here for long enough to understand why your thread would have been deleted, as it's always been the case that the dedicated festival forums are wanted to keep pretty much on topic.
