Rufus Gwertigan
Meh Bombskare are good fun if you're in the vicinity of the Scooter tent folks. Line up still pretty shit but I'll be there to say goodbye to Wickerman. It's been a great festie in the past and I'm sure I'll enjoy myself to some extent. Next year It'll be Eden all the way as it has the vibe that Wickerman once had but has lost in the past few years.
northernsoul
Was hoping for a bit more. The Pigeon Detectives are as bad as Feeder!! Agree that Bombskare will be good. What about Bad Manners, The Divine Comedy or Shed Seven on the Summerisle stage for a sing along? Solfest looks good. Thinking of giving it a try this year. treacle
A lot of the people that I have worked with in the past have said that they would never pay to go to the festival. My eldest is going again this year but he has been in 2 minds all the time. Mind you there is a lot of festies in that area now, especially if you include the Lakes. Just over the water you have Solfest which gives you a 3 day festival for the same cash and none of the sponsorship.,
paulguz
I'm no longer going to Wickerman due to my mates not following up on their declared interest and buying tickets, and due to the, IMO, uninspiring line-up. Anyone want a cheap weekend ticket? Update: now sold Edited July 19, 2011 by paulguz

Ray Vaughan
After finding the Summerisle Stage line-up somewhat uninspiring, apart from one or two acts, I have decided that most of the weekend will be spent at either at the Solus, GoNorth and Scooter tents. In anticipation of this I had a wee listen, on MySpace, to some of the acts that are due to play the Solus and GoNorth tents and I have been very impressed at the quality of some of the bands. In the past I have just stumbled across some gems but this year I'm going to give these stages more of my time as I feel I have maybe missed out on some up and coming talent. So from actually not really looking forward to the Wickerman this year due I now can't wait.

ski64
Security nazis at quiet campsite entrance really spoiled it for me , searching every bag including kids and making them bin soft drinks and even unopened water bottles all done with a hint of glee . Any protests met with a sudden inability to understand the language and claims of its what the boss said !! Second visit but may well be my last which is a real shame as everything else was great - oh and when is a 24hr shop not a 24hr shop when its at wickerman no access on Sat morn to buy breakfast stuff till after 10!!! calise
We had the same problem on Friday morning, told to empty the kids water bottles and fill them up inside, but it turned out there was nowhere to fill them up inside. When I went back to complain they told me they had changed the rules cos other people had complained and now unopened water bottles were allowed. Pity I had emptied mine out! They had slackened right off by Saturday and we didnt get searched all day. Great Festival all in all though, one of the best, you should consider coming back. treacle
We had the same experience and I was gobsmaked when they insisted the woman behind us empty out her kids baby bottle and feeding cup. There was one tap in the arena (unmarked and hidden behind a fencepost behind a gazebo) I only knew it was there because I've been to Wickerman for many years. Security pouring water on folks BBQs in the campsite saying they were banned while selling them in the shop on site. The noise from the fairground rides drowning out the music from the Go North and Solus tents. The beige main stage line up and sound problems all weekend. The Skiddle area pumping out inane dance tunes til 5 am at such volume that those not wanting to hear them had no option but to listen The burning of the Wickerman lost it's meaning when the call to prayer drum was replaced by a lone piper playing happy birthday (whose idea was that FFS!) I've said my goodbyes and plan to move on to festies which have the vibe that Wickerman once had but has now lost
