Glass bottles within the Motorhome?...

Hi,

Does anyone know if glass bottles are permitted to be taken into the campervan fields given that they are outside the festival perimeter?

We totally remove all glass so remember no jars either as these too could be confiscated.

The thing to remember is that the campervan fields are also cow fields the rest of the year so the no glass rule is just as valid.

Keeping them inside the motorhome for the duration of the festival really doesn't work as most people will sit outside at some point enjoying the weather (if it's anything like last year) and people wouldn't stop to decant from their inside pint glass to an outside plastic glass everytime they step outside.

edit: we take salsa each year as it makes a great snack with tortilla chips, but we decant the salsa from glass jars into tupperware containers before we leave home. Not a huge problem, just something we need to remember each time.

When I've stewarded festivals I have been told glass jars are not acceptable.

I have seen even mirrors (although I always take a small one) & make up in glass containers be confiscated to the horror of a few girls.

If the stewards find any glass they will confiscate it and put it into this shed/container by the gates and give you a reference number to collect it on the way out.

Sets of plastic cups/glasses are available cheaply in most supermarkets and many products are now available in plastic as opposed to glass bottles, such as tomato sauce or Marmite. Beer in cans, wine in boxes and other things decant into plastic containers. Simples.
