Scanning over these boards, I've seen this quite a lot. MCR never actually said they would be headlining any festivals; Kerrang and NME just twisted what they actually said at wembley - believe me, I was there, and they never said the word "headline". Gerard just asked us whether we were going to any festivals this year and said they might see us there.

So technically they could still sub. I personally would like to see them given the chance to headline, but to all those who are against this, you will be pleased to know they didn't actually say they were.

Just to get rid of any confusion there. :)

soz to tell you, that's not the whole story.

We've had reports of them saying they were headlining a UK fest from a number of nights around the country of their recent tour.

It could of course be that people sent us dodgy info, but we had enough of them for me to think that people haven't.

people hear what they want to hear. ;)

yep - I'm well aware of that, having been doing this a while. And on other occasions we got differing claims, but we didn't for any of the ones we got about MCR.

Anyway, everything will become clear .... but in the meantime everything is still indicating to me that MCR is right.

I'd be very happy if The Beastie Boys played but I really can't see The Prodigy headlining. It just seems like this is the same rumours we've been hearing and a good bit of guesswork. Could be right but I don't think so.

I know it isn't comparable because of all the Nirvana stuff etc but remember the Foo Fighters were booked & announced to headline the Tent before they even had the debut album out...lots of bands have headlined the tent on the basis of having just one album out - Muse, Bloc Party, Klaxons, Kasabian etc.. (yes ok they had already played previous years but they still headlined with just 1 album to their name)

The thing I find odd is Offspring, there's been no solid evidence their playing, just a load of rumours and guesses on here that pop up every year. I'm not saying they couldn't headline but it would surprise me.
