Friday sub-headliners

Anybody got any ideas who its likely to be?? Libertines were rumoured but have apparently ruled out festival dates. Seems like KOL are playing funny buggers about who they'll let play before them...

REM are apparently looking for non-headling festival dates...Elbow a possibility?? The Specials?? Flaming Lips??

Also looks like theres two fewer bands on the Friday than originally appeared...only spaces for 5 now (4 already confirmed plus the subbie slot)

Hope its not Duran Duran...

R.E.M are not touring the new LP they said the last tour was too exhausting.

Paul Weller is supporting KOL on their tour dates, he'd seem like a natural fit.

I suppose it depends who's picking the headliner, Gidding has let the headline band chose before (The Strokes picked Blondie for example) so who knows? Weller would certainly fit the IOW vibe.

Better than Duran Duran...not as good as Elbow, Kanye, Libertines, REM, Franz Ferdinand. To be honest, my expectations are so low now given 90% of the line-up is shite I'd be happy with anybody who hasnt been on x-factor or my mom saw on one of their reunion tours in the 80's....

Being announced tonight according to the official website...but they've already said its not Elbow (absolutely gutted)& QOTSA (gutted)

Please not Weller or Gaga...

Yep I'm happy with that- it could have been MUCH worse. Personally would have LOVED Elbow in the sunset slot before KOL but I can happily watch KC's again.

Some good additions to the "garden stage" too.

Who else reckons Tempah bottled the battle with the Foos?!

I only hope they dont put someone decent on who'll clash with them, or at least stagger it so I dont miss it!

The Kaiser Chiefs are beyond terrible - we will be at the bar for their set ready to fight our way down the front for KoL. The rest of the line-up on Friday is pretty good though.

I actually quite like the Kaisers but can understand them not being to everybody taste...however, given the alternatives appear to be either Alexandra Burke or Yellow Wire(!?!?!?) I'm sure they'll get a decent crowd.
