Carrying alcohol around the festival

igloo max cold cool box is the best investment i ever made for festivals, freeze two 5lt bottles of water and put your beer on top and keep topping it up with tins as required, the water bottles were still half frozen a week later even with the heat wave last year B) granted the tins didnt stay cold all day in my back pack so just moved onto spirits when they were too warm... although tbh warm tins are infinetly preferable to the pissy tuborg they were selling last year!

I drank tins at the tent but I couldn't be bothered carrying more than one or two around with me as they'd just get warm and fizzed up. I decanted some wine and spirits into plastic bottles to carry round and then bought a pint every now and again when I wanted something really cold.

It was far too hot last year and I couldn't drink a lot of the booze I brought with me.

If you can afford to do so, I would recommend travelling light and buying cold drinks there. Most of the time I ended up doing that anyway as there was no chance of drinking any cans in the afternoon as they were hotter than a porn-stars vag!

Obviously at night, it is better and you can drink your own stuff, but I really don't think it is sensible to drink warm alcohol. It's bad enough for you at the best of times.

Thanks for all the replies...

The beet hat I will be considering (even if you were joking)

This post above sort of sums up what I will be doing. The Frozen water bottles. Then the rucksack full of cold cans and a couple of spirits. By the time my cans have got a little bit warm, I don't think I'll be too bothered as I'm pretty sure I'll be feeling the effects of the alcohol...

We stay in the campervan fields now we're old and need our comforts. When we go in to the site we each take two cans of ale and both have Sigg water bottles that are filled with rum and coke or margaritas. That provides for the times we're too far from a bar and just want to chill etc. But those are backups to the excellent ales served throughout the festival.

That rucksack thing suggested for the red wine/sangra was the type of thing I was looking for. Definitely seen that before but couldn't find it. That Beerdolier is a super suggestion! Surprised 90% of people don't have these as oppose to having cans in your two jeans pockets, hoodie pockets and one down each wellie!

Last year we all had beer tubes which you could get 6 cans in and kept them cool too. Like Titusbungle we were always being asked where we had bought them from as they were such a good idea. There is something similar to mine on Ebay at the mo for only £3.49 inc postage( I'm not the seller! )
