How many tents can you set up with a campervan?

My friend is taking his bongo this year & we are wondering if there is a limit to how many tents you can set up next to it in the campervan field? On the website it gives you the size of the area your allowed but it doesn't say if theres a limit to how many tents.

We had quite a big trailer tent plus two small-ish (2 person) tents all in our one allocated space last year. A Bongo is far smaller than the footprint of our trailer tent plus the car that towed it so you could probably get three small-ish tents alongside.

This year our group aims to have both a medium motorhome and our trailer tent. Obviously we'll need two CV Field tickets but if we manage to pitch alongside each other we should have a fair communal space between us which might even accomodate a gazebo.

It seems to depend on the stewards at the time of setting up, those who patrol the fields afterwards and the fire officers as well as where your setup is in the field itself.

Some stewards are more relaxed than others. Sometimes people are made to take down whole groups of tents after another steward has let them set up okay. If you're in a corner of a field or over by the edges then stewards tend to be a bit more relaxed about how many tents you may have.

From the official site:

Can I pitch a tent beside my caravan/campervan?

The Fire Officer will not allow ticket-holders to camp beside campervans or cars due to the risk of contiguous fire, but it is permitted to camp behind them.

From the official site:

Notice that the question only refers to a single tent. Some people get away with more than one most years, some don't.

Also, from the same site on awnings:

Note: Many people still choose to sleep in their awnings and I'm not aware of any particular security checks in that regard.

Thanks for your help on this, we have measured up & should be fine as the bongo is 4.6m x 1.7m.

The only thing we were unsure of is what actually counts as behind the campervan? This could be taken as either behind the long elevation or the back where the brake lights are. Hopefully you can camp behind the long elevation as this will be loads of room.

The people next to us in the family camping fields last year turned up in a small ford van and had 3 largeish tents between them, they didn't even sleep in the van and only used it for cooking so they took up a fair bit of space and no stewards seemed to bother them.

I didn't think too much of it at the time but looking back their actions do seem a bit selfish, taking up a CV spot in the family camping field when their son was 17 and they slept in tents just feels a bit off as they're probably taking the spot from a family that actually needed it.
