Improving Festivals

How do you think UK festivals could be improved? I'm asking this as broadly as possible whether it be quality of line-up, pricing, marketing, content or anything else. And does anyone else opt for smaller independent festivals rather than the conglomerates?

At Reading, they definitely need better night time entertainment. When younger I didn't mind going on a rampage & watching random stuff around the campsite at night. Now I've been to Glastonbury & Bestival (which pretty much never stop) they really need to put more entertainment on or make the areas where there is entertainment ie silent disco larger to accomodate increasing demand. Can be difficult as the site is so close to town & there are noise control implication, a reason why Leeds fest can have this entertainment.

Lineups consisting entirely of my music collection

Located no more than a half-hour drive/taxi ride from my house

All stages to be situated in a natural bowl/amphitheatre

Free entry

VIP treatment for my friends and I

Free gourmet food and drink with waiter service to the crowd, with an option of bacon sarnie & a pint should I fancy that

Tents & chairs all setup when I arrive

No more than a 10 minute walk from my tent to stages, or between stages

Zero carbon emissions

No corporate sponsorship

Crowd to be at least 50% single attractive women.

Full-on ban on fat sweaty men getting naked.

Weather to be perfect; sunny and dry, but not too hot/sunny that I get sunburnt or too hot in my tent.

That sound about right?

Good point. I was thinking more about the hungover/filthy drive back, plus having to be a bit good on the last day if you're a driver.

I'll amend to;

Located so that the drive *to* the festival is approx 90mins-2hrs, but so the drive back home is no more than 30 minutes.
