Looking for some place new to pitch my tent this year, have for the last three years done the Dairy Fields,i like the peace and quiet there but not the sloping field, anyone recommend a flatter sopt to camp, don't want all action area, some place as quiet as Dairy Fields with more level field. Prefer the places well away from the main areas.

Have to say we didn't find it very sloping at all - but we were right up in the corner as you come in...couldn't be arsed to carry our things any further. We liked it there and will try to get a spot there this year, so that might be an option for you? Sorry I can't recommend anything else.

Hey Denwyn, Someone on the "% full" thread on the other board put this response, sounds ideal for you! From the 2010 Map it looks like "Bushy Ground" that they're talking about

"There really is no need to worry at all.

We arrived Thursday afternoon, there were absolutely no queues to get in from either direction. In fact I drove from the East entrance to the West entrance because I thought (rightly I think!) that most of the camping areas would be full on the East side by then. We drove striaght in and parked really close to gate A, took less than 5 minutes to walk to gate A.

We thought about walking to Gate D because we thought the few camping spaces available would be near the Dairy Ground/Paines Ground area. We didnt, so went through Gate A anyway. They had opened a new camping area last year, I cant remember what its called, something like "New Camping Area" I think!

There was acres of space, and it was so convenient, literally 5 minutes walk from the Dance Village. If you look at the fine guide, and follow the pylons lines west of the JP it was there, right next to the JP stage. Brillian area, and the strange thing was the field never got full for the entire festival. There was always masses of space available to camp all the time. Really convenient spot. So do not worry, there is a lot more camping space now than there usd to be.

And it was easy to drive out on Monday morning

I think I am going to regret divulging this 'new' camping area this year! I do not think it will be as empty this year now! "

Paines ground is good. We where there in 09.

However it was smaller last year as they moved some of the crew camping up in that direction.

I'm pretty sure that was because of the big screen telly showing the footy had encroached into their area.

Will be interesting to see the map for this year.
