That's not really what I've said though if you have another look.

What I'm saying is that punk sensibilities and the pursuit of perfection were spawned from the likes of Pink Floyd, while Pink Floyd maintained their fixation with experimentation and modernism. While the others turned their back, Pink Floyd carried on unabaited often using what the others were doing in the creation of their own music, as is the case with Wall.

I see yeah. Tis true, but back to the original point, even leave the Floyd out of it, punk wasn’t the only reason for the “death” of prog. Maybe it was the blending together of musical tastes, classes (especially with th state of the UK in the mid to late 70s), or, people just realised that most of the prog rock bands were shit.
