Very Quiet on Efestivals For Reading & Leeds 2011

These forums are bursting to seams around this time of year.But this year it seem completly dead to me! After a few good soruces from Efestival members stating that the headliners are the three we know, and nearly everybody beliving them, has this caused the forums to go dead?

Were useually full of speculation and people guessing and Fake Posters being made, but there has been no news since 2nd of march! and that was only Two Door Cinema Club giving a lil hint on the radio!

Nine days till the line-up being anouced and to me the forums just seem to be going round in circles, mainly with the MCR malarky!

Are we all content that we know everything, are just just being patiant?

I cannot wait for the line-up, hoping for Good Charlotte and a couple of good punky bands! Sum-41 maybe, and then a good varerity...from The View to Enter Shikari!

Just gotta hope we get what that we all wish for!

yeahh hate it being quiet! no more rumours added everyday... pretty bad this year! came on here cause the official leeds fest forums are DEAD and i mean DEAD lol and this is better but not good enough!

I haven't been doing any more posters or predictions because I'm still happy with my last one. I was hoping Metal Hammer and company would pick it up again, especially since it's much better in terms of realism and appearance than the one that fooled them last year, but it seems they're having none of it this time around. It seems to be impossible to trick anyone any more, as they've all gotten used to seeing realistic fakes around so now everyone just assumes straight away that they aren't the real deal.

That said, someone did put my last line-up on Wikipedia, and the page got locked so it was up for a good few days. That got a few people talking I think.

I think every (especially new) bands have been covered & looks likely they will pretty much all play. Thinking Mona, Two Door Cinema Club, Fiction, Funeral Party, Transfer etc. Basically any band that was on some list that went "New for 2011"

The usual headliners have been taken by IoW & the bands I was hoping & thought would turn up for R+L (Chase & Status possibly headlining NME, Wombats, Magnetic Man) will be at V... which everyone seems to agree rules them out for R+L... or at the Creamyfield.

Give it a week and we'll be debating the line up, who should and shouldn't be there. People will have tickets and start making plans. The excitement doesn't really start for me till I have my ticket.

Be careful when you wish for quality over quantity. About a week after the announcement most of the people who have been (semi-)intelligently discussing things for the last couple of months will probably go into hibernation due to this place being filled with so many repetitive threads about MCR and drugs and "do I need to take a change of clothes?" threads.

If anything I'm less sure of who I think's playing than I ever have before. Other than 6 bands (3 headliners and expected subs) I don't think I could make a genuine prediction at the moment other than the odd band that are obvious but placements for them are in no way predictable.

True actually, I think people are deflated by the Headliner selections, but beyond that I guess it is pretty much a mystery apart from a couple of subs.

We won't get what we all wish for because most of us are wishing for different things, and what we wish for doesn't necessarily represent what everybody else out there (who doesn't use this site) wants. There are no universal bands on here that make everybody go 'holy shit!' and - sorry for being laconic but that's because the line-up hasn't been announced yet, and we're creating thread after thread based on speculation because it's impossible for us to go 'holy shit!' at the minute.

We can only take that speculation so far before we end up repeating ourselves. Occasionally there are some genuinely brilliant threads started but they come few and far between because they seem outweighed by the repetitious speculation threads. We'll just have to wait until we see the line-up and then either sit back and complain or sit back and marvel.

It's not as quiet as the sonisphere thread, I swear there's about 1 post a week on there.

I think the fundamental basis to a lot of the threads comes from people's understanding that the rumours are disappointing, and are nothing to marvel at - so as you say, they are giving up hope before anything official has even been announced. People talk on here sometimes crestfallen as if every negative thing about the festival's line-up is etched in granite stone and yet it simply isn't, and even if it was, they ultimately have the choice to sit back and complain about it or get on with their lives and make the decision to not attend.

And to be honest, I'd rather have a ton of MCR threads than a bunch of people moping around on a board belonging to a festival they probably won't be going to this year AND telling everybody they won't be going.

The MCR backlash should be fantastic

Just cant wait till August to see them playing to potentially readings smallest headline crowd to date. Arcade Fire people thought who!? but you could watch them if you didnt really now about them MCR seem to be a band that if people dont like them they hate them.

Exactly whats happening to tese forums, Round and round in circles! You could post the time and date of the festival and sombody would bring up MCR.

I have to admit, if headliners are suposed to be secret why are people so sure they will play. Yes Must held up there gig list, but where are other coming from, sombody must know the truth but are they posting on Efestivals?
