shoebox
OK, I did it. 49 artists announced so far. There were roughly 60 last year, excluding the Local and 10 unsigned artists. So there's a possibility of another 10 acts to be announced. Possibly. Maybe.
swashbubbler
I make it 50 so far and usually 80-90 in total, so lots to come.
dirtycash
I just looked on Songkick: 68 in 2009 108 in 2007 112 in 2008 96 in 2009 78 in 2010 It seems pretty accurate, they don't list any of the no shows from last year (Steve Mason, Timber Timbre) anyway. dirtycash
Interesting call on Monsters of Folk - though they haven't got enough material of their own, they could always throw in a few Mystic Valley/BE/MMJ/M Ward choons to flesh a set out. ljsawyer
Well, it's not Spiritualized (luckily) or Battles if anyone had the suspicion that it might be one of them.
SweepingTheNation
I'd still put Belle & Sebastian on the list, they may have headlined Latitude last year but that was partly with an orchestra and you'd have to say they'd fit in well. Who would you put as likely favourites? I'd say Decemberists - Polly's got to be doing something else over the summer, maybe Arena headliner at Latitude. Outlier
Pavement aren't doing any UK festivals, although their reunion so far has seemed to be about the money, so they probably wouldn't play EOTR. I would love to be proved wrong though.
SweepingTheNation
That reunion's finished now, it was according to all concerned just for 2010. Pixies, though...
Dibford and Son
Looks like PJ is playing Electric Picnic in Ireland on the 2nd. Does that make her more or less likely now, I am not sure! It means she is performing in festival land on the right weekend, but it is in Ireland as a Headliner. Is it 'doable'(sorry about the grammar) to headline again the same weekend across the water?? SweepingTheNation
Beirut are playing there as well. Is PJ headlining? It's 40,000 capacity, which if she is puts her just a little out of EOTR range.
Dibford and Son
Good point, well made. She is on the same billing as Beirut but maybe not headlining, not when Arcade Fire, Pulp and Chemical Brothers are on the same bill! And a few others are playing both as well including Midlake who are also billed as an EOTR UK exclusive. My money is now moving to PJ. perfectpassion
Slightly off topic...sorry GTG BUT has anyone else noticed the lack of animals this year??? Only Wild Beasts....no wolves, bees, or whales???
Dibford and Son
and no Goats, Deers, (Antlers!), Mouse, or Foxes!!
wackojackohighcliffe
The recently revived Swans would be an interesting addition then...
MattL80
Grizzly Bear would be rather nice if we're talking about raising the animal quota.
fogged
If it's PJ Harvey or Bill Callahan, I'll really struggle not to buy a ticket. PJ has to be the favourite, just because it's surprising that she hasn't been named on any other UK festival bills yet. But then, neither's Bill. MattL80
Of all the bands/artists mentioned, Decemberists would be my favourite. And seeing as Gillian Welch is on 7 songs on their latest album, maybe her too. And therefore, David Rawlings also. That would do me. perfectpassion
I forgot to mention Tindersticks as an outside bet..... Having just seen the lovely line up for Molesey Folk Festival am slightly gutted that its now the same weekend as EOTR....but as Low Anthem are playing there it looks like they could also make EOTR, and am also hoping for Johnny Flynn
Londog
I'm going for Buffalo Springfield on the back of their reunion this year. Bound to be doing some dates in the UK. Stills and Young on stage, er yep! Either them or JJ.

bikergroover
I'm actually excited for this announcement I'd be happy with almost all the suggestions made so far This is not a prediction, just a wish : Joanna Newsom
Sipperana
WHAT?!! Now were you listening through the pleasure sapping compression that is CD/mp3 or the radiant aural glory that is God's Own Vinyl?! I think the production is really sparkly. And it's even good as mp3's through decent headphones...on a bike! I'm genuinely surprised at the rather underwhelmed reponse of many of you guys to the new PJH. But only as I was a firm disbeliever pre-release and have had a wee bit of a Polly Epiphany. I urge you to persevere with Let England Shake, especially if (though expaectations are now bound to be dashed) she is announced on Friday. I have a looming doom that it's going to be the Flaming Lips, with whom I've just never got on. Too 'clever' and ironic for their own good, but not in an endearing They Might Be Giants way. Rather a knowing, slightly novelty way. Oh man, I'm a bit nrevous now. Only way out of that would be FL for Garden with BSP announced for the Big Top at the same time. I know how popular TFL are with so many on these types of boards, so I don't want to be a killjoy! Ben
