Using someone else's ticket....

I have been going glasto since I was 5. This year I was unlucky like alot of other people and didnt manage to get a ticket, Although all of my friends did. My friend has pulled out due to an exam during glasto. She has offered me her ticket, I wouldnt say i look like her, but there are similarities. I really want to go this year, and this is my only chance of going really. Has anybody got away with this before? She said I can borrow her rail card ect, so I have some form of id with her name on it. Someone please give me some advice as I really dont know what to doooo! Ta

Always a risk - try and get a ticket in the resale before this last resort. Its a long way to go, and an expensive mistake if you don't get in - and by your admission, you don't look like her, so its a pretty good bet you'll be turned away. ID's, rail cards etc mean nowt if you don't look like the photo!

yea agree with every thing said my mate got in on a friends ticket last year its just a case of if your lucky your in if not its a night mare but i will say two things common sense really dont wear so much that you look like your in disguise and draw attention to your self and go in with a crowd at the busiest time so that the security have a lot of people to deal with.

Like others have said if you decide to use your mates ticket play it cool, don't go over the top wearing hat and sunglasses and feather boa etc and best to go in when they are busy!

Just go on a ninja course a few weeks before and use the all important stealth skills you'll learn to get past security.

Or dress up as a cow and mingle in with the heard for a few weeks before the festival, then bingo when it all starts your already on site.

Don't listen to the over cautious crew on here... it will be fine, just take along a note from your friend explaining the situation and you'll breeze in. This happens all the time, and the security and gate crew are really, really understanding, patient and loving about it.

I have heard both sides of the story.

09 it seemed to be that people were getting in with any ticket.

10 it seemed to be more strict and folk were getting turned away.

In saying that, it may just be your luck.

You'd need to be a right bastard of a steward not to let some poor punter in. I know I would struggle to turn folk away.

But these people do exist, and there may also be supervisors enforcing vigilence.

I guess you know the risks and the fact that there are photos, does the job of stopping mass ticket buying and touting, so folk turning up with tickets are just doing their mates a favour, in the most part.
