Great band. Just seen down the side they'll be at Sonsiphere.

Could they be at Reading & Leeds? Could see them playing the Sunday at Reading and Saturday at Leeds but unsure as to where and what stage. Definitely wouldn't be an NME band...

Very unlikely, but they'd make a great FR stage headliner. Couldn't really see them getting a good slot on any other stage unfortunately.

I think they'd be fifth on the main stage, but I doubt they'd be playing.

The world would be a much safer place to be in if Jaz Coleman wasn't alive. Mad f**ker.

IMO if they were ever going to play it would of been 2002/3 right after their reunion, not now that they've lost some of their glamour from playing Download/Soni all the time.

A hate to sound like a typically nostalgic YouTube comment but a band like Killing Joke deserve so much more than the FR tent. That said, I don't think you can fully experience or appreciate them until you're standing in the dark listening to their music - which, considering the sun goes down at about 9pm when R&L is on, would mean headlining spot or sub, and they sure as hellfire won't be headlining or subbing the NME of main stages.

And of course in the tent you'd be more likely to be surrounded by Killing Joke fans, with only the occasional All Time Low fan equally horrified and confused by Jaz f*cking Coleman. (I have it on good authority that that is his actual middle name )

I actually had the chance to meet him some years ago backstage at a Killing Joke concert before it started and I have to say - some of these rock stars with a gimmick you meet and behind the facade you get an eloquent guy from Ipswich talking about his mum (or whatever), whereas Jaz Coleman is genuinely mad as a brush. I was asking him about his stay in Iceland (as you do) and he started talking about the apocalypse, demons and Bjork, and said that the only reason Dave Grohl appeared on the second self-titled Killing Joke album was because Jaz threatened to put a curse on him if he didn't.

Not sure how much of the last part is true but if you hear Jaz Coleman singing (or shouting) about the end of the world, believe it because he's seen it.
