Routes and Parking

Just a quicky...

I've been going for the last few years now, and I've never been able to end up getting access to my preferred route - blue, white, orange etc - to take me to the closest parking area to my camping spot of choice.

I'm not generally a late arriver so I don't imagine all the spaces are full in my car park of choice and those closely surrounding it. What's the secret to being able get access to your preferred choice of route, do I just need to arrive even earlier or is purely luck of the draw for when the various routes are opened and closed to avoid increased congestion?

I was wondering the same thing.

Last year we had a group get there a few hours before we arrived so they set up camp etc, we got a call for them and they told us what field they were camped in, do we looked at the map and decided that the white route would be best to reduce walking distance to the camp site. So the first white route turn-in we saw we went down it, only to be stopped by the police and be told to turn around and follow the main route to other carparks.

So, im only guessing, they direct you to carparks that arent full or open to filling, not one in particular.

as i understand it, the only choice you get as a punter is east or west. then it's down to whichever car park is being filled at the time you get to the head of the queue

Sat Nav for each car park is BA4 6TA for the East car parks and BA6 8NE for the West. This has worked for us the past 2 years but probably isn't failsafe.
